Cross Crafts

CLOTHES PIN CROSS

This craft will have:

15 clothes pins

First take the spring out of the clothespins and set aside for a different craft (if you have a suggestion for these please let me know).

Glue them back together as they were. Then glue 3 together in the shape seen in picture.

Then glue the set of three in the form of the cross. You can then paint or stain as you choose.

DOG AND CAT FOOD AND TREATS

Hello all,

Lets recap our Try It Tuesday events for the month of August. First on August 5th we showcased a few recipes for making Dog Food. We also tried the out on our dogs and they all three loved them. These dogs included my dog Sam along with Mandy and Hannah’s dogs, Katy and Duke(lovingly called Pup Pup) You can find this video at the following site https://youtu.be/MyhF0cjsAmI

Second week we made cat food and the ingredients were just tuna, carrots and peas with a little bit of chicken broth. This was also tried out on our cats. Mandy and Hannah have Cameo and Tailpipe and our two cats Jinx and Axle (also lovingly called Cornflake) This video can be viewed at the following site https://youtu.be/5NKkUMpwxxw

The third week in August we made dog treats which included peanut butter and Sam love them as well as Katie. Duke liked them but was a little reluctant at first. Since them Hannah has told me that all of her treats are gone her dogs really liked them. I will link that video here: https://youtu.be/nIA3v_eJRKA

For the forth Try it Tuesday we actually did this one on our Live on Facebook on August 27, 2025. That video is also on our website. That link is as follows: https://youtu.be/EF_78s2Gb4o

I wanted to include these links on our blog just in case you are looking for our Youtube page. Since we have made the dog and cat food and the dog treats our animals have enjoyed them all. Sam really like the dog food which I mixed with a little of the dry food (which he did not want to eat previously) and he would eat every bite.

Please leave me a comment if you try any of these recipes which I add here:

Dog food

4 cups of shredded chicken, 4 cups of cooked rice (I used minute rice) 1 cup of cooked carrots and 1 cup of cooked peas. Mix well and divide out into portions that will make your dog a serving size of your choice. You can refrigerate or freeze the remaining portions for later use.

Cat Food

2 cups of fish shredded (i used tuna and some Tilapia I had in the freezer we weren’t going to eat) I baked the fish in the oven before shredding. The we mixed it with rice as above and carrots and peas as well. I was surprised at how well the cats liked it. They ate all of it and of course now I will have to make some more.

Dog Treats

This treat was made out of peanut butter and wheat flour. Mixed well and spooned out onto a baking sheet covered in parchment paper. Baked in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes or until the bottom turns a little brown. All the dogs really like this treat cookie.

Cat Treats

This one we did on the Live so you will see at that time the cats were fully fed and not hungry enough to try but since then that have tried them and seem to like them. Sam really likes them but as we know Sam likes most things. So if I can give him things that are good for him instead of just what I eat this is better for both of us.

7 ounces of ground beef, 2 eggs, and 1.4 ounces of corn meal. Mix all together and form into small balls and bake for 12 minutes and let cool.

2nd recipe for Cat Treats

This one is sort of ice cream for cats: it is just Coconut cream mixed with shredded fish, you can use sardines, mackerel or tuna. Mix together and put in a freezer safe container and take out one or two a week for a treat for your cat. Especially good in the summer when it is hot on animals just as it is for us.

I hope this information is helpful. As with all new recipes please check to see if your animal is allergic to any of the ingredients so they will not become sick from eating them. Ours had already tried each of the ingredients prior to my choosing these recipes so I just wanted to add that caution for you animals as well. Let me know if you try them.
